John 11: 25-26
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
The first century church held the resurrection very highly no other prophet had raised from the dead.
1 Cor: 15:19- 21
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
God can reach you when you are broken but when we are so broken you can’t get to God He will get to you.
John 11:1-6
1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
Jesus loved Mary, Martha and Lazarus yet when he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
Often Jesus waits in our time of greatest need. When we are waiting we think God has forgotten us. But the Scripture says it’s not if God will do it it’s when God will do it.
They send word to Jesus remember Jesus loved Mary Martha and Lazarus. Just as God loves us. Sometimes we look at Jesus as someone that should be a friend that hooks you up.
Don't get discouraged but stay steadfast. it will come but we ask why?
4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
This sickness if for God's glory.
All of say we want to give God the glory but you don’t get to decide in what area you will give God glory.
God loves when the odds are against us He get glory.
Mary, Martha and Lazarus were there to give us encouragement. Whenever Lazarus’ story is told God will get the glory.
Don't believe the lie, discouragement delays and anxiety says you don't trust God enough. We let the situation make us fear.
Every one of your needs will give you a Revelation. How will you know Him as Jehovah-jireh unless you have a need.
Or Jehovah Rapha unless you are sick.
Sometimes circumstances sap your faith and anxiety comes in and it is a Revelation that you maybe don’t trust God as much as you should. We operate more in fear than in faith.
If Jesus was only able to heal diseases we should not be worshipped but he has authority over death.
vs 33; Jesus understands our hearts.
vs 35: What moves us moves Jesus.
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
Take the stone away remove the thing that blocks Jesus.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
When you are stinking in the grave you are not out.
Where have you laid him? Take me to the place to the thing in your life that is dead.
Jesus asked to be taken where you failed, where all your efforts didn’t make it happen.
In those circumstances Jesus said Lazarus come forth.
Faith must be crazy to get a crazy miracle.
