May 19th Sermon Notes:

Apostle Dr. Lucille Baird Speaker: Apostle Dr. Lucille Baird
Theme: Certainty in an uncertain world
Text: Exodus 3:12-15

12 And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
13 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”
14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
15 God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob —has sent me to you.’

Romans 8: 28 reminds us as a child of God that all things still work together for our good, because we love the Lord and are called according to His purposes. You can be certain that in this uncertainty it’s going to work for your good.
As humans we crave certainty and stability, we want to plan and execute them and have them fulfilled but fear and uncertainty can drain you emotionally and trap you in a downward spiral of ‘What if…” But we have a word of certainty that God is still in control. God is aware and He is in control. He is certainly in the midst of the storm. He is still in the ship. It’s going to be all right, in your uncertainty God is certainly going to make a way out for you. It’s going to be all right. Jesus is certain about tomorrow. Some people’s lives are planned to the letter, and they cannot cope with uncertainty. No matter how hopeless you feel God is still in control and that can make a difference.

Certainty is to have a firm conviction about a situation.

Uncertainty is a state of doubt, lack of sureness and lack of conviction of the outcome of the situation.

There are more people in the uncertainty bracket today but the church will not be moved. Your tomorrow may not look certain but with God there is a certainty in the truth of God’s word. He has made us promises and He will keep them. We can be certain of His power and our foundation that is certain.
We can be safe in the certainty of God’s word
We can be certain of the deity and power of Christ
We can be certain of the foundation
Gods promises are unending

1. He is Faithfulness it is at the core of God’s character
Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying:
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

2. He is unchangeable
James 1: 17

17 Every good and perfect gift is from above,(AB) coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

3. His power is unlimited
Luke 1: 37

For no word from God will ever fail.

4. God’s forgiveness is unsearchable, he cast our sins into the depth of the sea
Micah 7:19

You will again have compassion on us;
you will tread our sins underfoot
and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.

5. God’s promises are unending
Deut 7:9

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of loveto a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

6. God’s Sovereignty is unexplainable
Rom 11: 13

Certainty vs Uncertainty
God is the alpha he is the beginning and the end, He owns tomorrow. We are certain that Coronavirus cannot defeat God, nothing is impossible for Him.

We are certain that God’s church has never been closed, the Holy Spirit is still present even when the doors are closed. When the church doors were closed Jesus was still interceding on our behalf before His Father.

Jesus gave the church the keys of the Kingdom. We bind principalities and powers in Jesus name.

Let not your heart be troubled, in the midst of catastrophe, God has not given you a spirit of fear but love and power and a sound mind. Governments are falling but Jesus carries the governments on his shoulders. It shall increase for certain.
Isaiah 9: 6
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

PM rise and fall, Presidents rise and fall, Kings rise and fall, but Jesus’ government will never fall.

We are uncertain about the success of a vaccine but we are certain that we have life in His blood

We are uncertain about how many will die of the Corvid 19 but we are certain that Jesus has power of life and death. He is the resurrection and the life. We can still look at death and say where is your sting

We are uncertain about economies, the stock market has plummeted and unemployment is at its highest, there is uncertainty on the tourism business but we are certain that God can perform miracles in the midst of need. He knows where the fish with the gold in his mouth can be found, all the cattle on a thousand hills belong to him. He can still provide manna.

There is uncertainty about paying bills and putting food on the table but God is certain that as a child of God no good thing will he withhold from those that love Him. Matt 6: 28 – 29
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

We are uncertain about social distances but we are certain that if we draw near to God He will draw near to us. We can still call on God He is faithful and He will never leave us of forsake us.

We are uncertain as to how to move forward but we are certain that if we trust in God He will direct our paths. He is a way maker. He is a God that changes life. Put your trust in the hand of the one and only God of certainty.

He certain to save you

He is certain to love you

He certainly died for you, rose and is coming back for you

He is certain to protect you

He certainly has a plan for you. There are many plans in the heart of a man but Gods precepts will prevail.

He is your certain God and He can certainly offer you eternal life. Why hold on to uncertainty and embrace certainty. Come to Jesus for a certain life of hope and fulfillment. Hold on to God, trust Him because He holds tomorrow.
