February 2nd 2020 Sermon Notes:

Speaker: Apostle Chris Baird
Theme: Point 3. Stay in constant connection with your God.
Text:Exodus 13:13-18

Stay in constant connection with your God, He is your Director your Map and your Guide

Exodus 13: 13-18
13 Redeem with a lamb every firstborn donkey, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck. Redeem every firstborn among your sons.
14 “In days to come, when your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ say to him, ‘With a mighty hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 15 When Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the Lord killed the firstborn of both people and animals in Egypt. This is why I sacrifice to the Lord the first male offspring of every womb and redeem each of my firstborn sons.’ 16 And it will be like a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead that the Lord brought us out of Egypt with his mighty hand.”
17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.

God never sends someone without a plan and without provision. We are guaranteed to get to our destination as long as we are connected to our God. Abraham has to give up all He had even his son.

There is no chance of failure when you are led and fed by God.

Because Abraham was totally obedient to God, even by giving up is only son, he became a friend of God.

In the Scriptures we have read it was not only the first born child to be given to God.

Verse 15. This is where y I sacrifice to the Lord the first male offspring of every womb and redeem each of my firstborn sons.

Why? Because it will be like a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead that the Lord brought us out of Egypt with his mighty hand.

Children are the Lord’s heritage, this is why God chose Abraham because he would train the children in the ways of God.

We cannot fail when God is on your side. You must know your story, history is important when you know where you come from.
We must learn from our mistakes.

God armed the Israelites but He was aware of the huge dangers they would experience in the Philistine country

Verse 17. God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”

We must stay connected with God, God was aware of the challenges of the Israelites so he led them the long way. He knew they were weak and fearful.

When God is in charge of your life then your enemies have to stand and watch.

1. God has a plan for your life.
2. Your situation is known by the God of Heaven
3. If you follow God you will get there, many people have loss their way

Stay connected to God it is worth more than anything else in this world

Don’t leave it until it is too late, get connected to God before the end of your life.

We have to give account of our action to God . Only our connection with God is what matters.

Our greatest need is our Spiritual need.

God hears us.
Psalm 18:6

In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

God sees us.
1 Peter 3:12.

The Eyes of the Lord are over the Righteous, and his Ears are open unto their Prayers.

God will never leave you or forsake you
Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
