Speaker: Apostle Dr Lucille Baird Title: Jesus came back Bible Text:Matthew 28: 8-10; John 21 Draw me close to you Never let me go I lay it all down again To hear you say that I'm your friend Help me find a way to bring me back to you You're all I want, You're all I've ever needed You're all I want, Help me know you are near There was a reason he came back from the dead and for his disciples . He is a comeback guy!!!! When man discards you Jesus never does. when it seems you are not qualified He is comes to qualify you. The Word is God, the Word Became Flesh John 1:1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. There was a reason Jesus came back to His disciples after he rose from the dead. He went to Mary before he even when to His Father. He came back to restore them, His is the God of the second chance. He came back for weak, backslider men. His disciples fell asleep when He asked them to stay awake and pray. He saw the potential in them, He sees the potential in you, even though you may have dropped your axe head. He came back to a group of distressed, faithless, fearful, depressed men, a group of deserters but He came back. They were unemployed and unemployable but He came back to ensure that you fulfill the purpose He has placed in you. He told them meet me in Galilee, and he met them. John 21:1 1 Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee He is coming back to ensure that every Word spoke over this house will come to pass. He keeps His Word, His promise is sure. They felt distressed, they were in a mess, disappointed, dejected and they reverted back to fishing. (They were in a backsliden state, they had dropped their axe head, they were out of position). When God calls you from it don’t go back to it. I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you. John 21: 3b So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. They toiled all night but caught nothing, more angry and depressed, and but Jesus came back in the morning. John 21:4 4 Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. Your darkest hour is just before dawn, but Jesus came back for them in the morning. Jesus came back for Peter, the very one that betrayed him 3 times and cursed him with it. But Jesus saw the radical anointing that would come upon Peter. Jesus saw the new church in Peter and the revolutionary move that will be birthed. God sees that on you. And he has earmarked you for specific ministry and no body called of God is a spectator. You should not be unemployed. Jesus is coming after you because God had a specific ministry for them. He created you to do good works in advance. The first person Jesus commissioned when he rose was a woman ‘Go tell my disciples...’ Jesus interviewed Peter John 21: 15- 17 15 Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” 16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” 17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep” He gave him the job they were instructed to wait for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. He came back to reestablish them, he sanctioned them and re-ordained them and commissioned them. Blessed them and gave them His peace. He chose them to start His church. God put Peter back into the battle, He brought every nation to Peter. Acts 2: 5 5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. Jesus will touch you wherever you are. He restored them, ordained them, gave them peace and then sent them. Recommissioned |
