Sermon notes November 15th 2020

Speaker: Rev Elvis Goodman
Psalm 1:
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly.”

“For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.”
Leaving a Legacy,Planting for the next Generation: Rev Gail Price
In 1995, we ushered in a new era and chartered a course set by God to be the Joshua Generation, the people called Mount Zion Missions. We were raised up to impact , influence and transform not just individuals, communities and nations but to establish the Kingdom of God according to Josh 1.
Here we are in 2020 on an important mark in this ministry celebrating 25years; years that has strengthened us as an Apostolic and Prophetic People. Today, we look towards the future of this ministry and the continuity of God's Word over our lives. Legacy says:inheritance, heritage - that which is inherited; a gift, anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor. We aim to mark this day symbolically by planting trees of Royalty, longevity, fruitfulness, and growth as a prophetic voice for the next 25 years and beyond.
Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”Ezekiel 47:12 NIV
And: Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.Revelation 22:1-2 NIV

The power of choice
Romans 12:1-2 NLT
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
You have a choice, don’t let your friends force you to do anything that you do not want to do, things that may be immoral, illegal, ungodly. Actions have consequences. The wages of sin is death.
Paul challenges the Romans “Let them be a living and holy sacrifice.” The offering of your bodies in service to God, key God use you for His honour and glory.
Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
Rejoice and be glad, in spite of what you hear, choose to focus of God. Our mind is where the battlefield is. He wants you to read His Word, meditate upon it let it get into your mind. Think positive things. Be careful what you let go into your mind. Don’t let words turn your mind. Stay focused, don’t let distractions derail you. Be strong and stay focus.
Paul tells us “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world”
The things you think will determine where you are going.
You have the power of choice. Choose today who you will serve.
Open your self to be used by God. Don’t allow fear and insecurity to hold you back.
Choose the words you want to live by speak them into your life. Words have power, speak blessing into the lives of your children.
The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Your will response to words, when you are committee and the Word is activated and has take root in your spirit you will be passionate to do the will of God in your life.
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
It’s not good enough to just know the word of God but you must apply it.
Let your light shine, don’t pretend.
Be the best you can be, let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Use the power of choice
