OPERATING UNDER THE EMPOWERMENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD

Speaker: Apostle Chris Baird Theme: I am not ashamed of the gospel The Jews became so engrossed with keeping the laws that they forgot all about God in the process. Even when God sent His Son Jesus they did not know that it was Him. Paul was one of these people. His focus was on keeping the law and He was intentional about persecuting Christians. He was bold about his purpose.

Romans 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of Godthat brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

We are told that we are old fashioned or don't have a life because we follow Christ.
1. We should not be ashamed to follow Christ.
2. We should not be ashamed to be a member of His church. You are in God's will when you are where He wants you to be. Don't be ashamed to be a part of His church.
3. I am not ashamed to be a crazy fool for God. People will try to tell you not to serve God but where are they in life?

Don't follow ignorant persons on spiritual matters.

Romans 12:2
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

What does it mean to be ashamed of the gospel?
Shame- Disgrace or personally humiliation, dishonour from forming the wrong alliances. Many young people give up on serving God because they are walking with the wrong crowd and they become ashamed.

Romans 10:11
11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

Once our confidence is in the Lord we will not be put to shame.
Our lives should reflect our message. That is how we can show that we are not ashamed of the gospel.

The Cost of Carrying the Shame of the Gospel Read John 9:25-38

Too often we find ourselves doing what is popular and end up being far from God. Then when we find ourselves in those situations there is no one but God who can help us. When you are doing it God'w way, the whole world is wrong but you are right.

The Consequences of Shame
Shame functions under sin, when people become embarrased by the right thing amd as a consequence do the wrong thing. Shame imprisons us and robs us. You may be poor but be well kept. You may be hungry but stand straight and carry yourself well.

The Victory of Shame
Luke 2

God has a great plan for us. The pitfalls of shame are covered under the blood of Jesus. God's good news always brings hope peace and joy.
Be ready to die for what you believe in. If you are then you are at the place where you are not ashamed of the gospel. The Gospel is what sets us free from sin.

Romans 10:11-13
11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Matthew 5

Whatever we are going through now, we can make it.
