OPERATING UNDER THE EMPOWERMENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD

Text:John 3:34
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

How special you are to be loved by the greatest God in the Universe.

John 20:21-22
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

God defeated the powers of darkness, when Moses went to Egypt and said ‘let my people go.’ Pharaoh said ‘I do not know your God.’ In our society we live in a world where people think they are gods. In Egypt God destroyed all the Egyptian gods

Joel 2: 28-29
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Acts 2:1-4
2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Gods plan
1. He will be our God
2. We will be His people
3. He wants to dwell amounts us

We cannot become what God wants us to become unless we change our address. We must become members or His Kingdom and not this earth.

Our purpose becomes fulfilled when we worship and serve God.

At the end of the creation story God created man in His own image, they were perfectly made but we have all gone astray. When we come back to God He will set you free and enjoy the purpose God had for your life. God wants us all to be whole not broken and suffering that is the consequence of sin.

From Noah he started to select a people separated unto Him. But even the Israelites rebelled against God. Surrender to God you will never regret that decision. We all have regrets for things in our life, but the God who loves us so much put a plan in place to bring us back to Him.

The Holy Spirit will convict you of your sin, we convince ourselves that some sin is ok but the Holy Spirit will convict you.

We need a lot more than just going to church we need to really get to know God.

When Jesus was on the earth he brought the message:

John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If you look to Jesus you will live. Before Jesus left He gave them a promise He said wait for Him until they are empowered with the Holy Spirit.

Mark 16: 15-17
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

They waited and had an Acts 2 experience


15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

This is that and on the first day 3,000 people gave their lives to the Lord.

Man cannot be saved unless the Holy Spirit draws you to Him.
We are not just bodies we are triune , spirit, soul and body. This is not your final destination you have choices.
We do not understand how catastrophic it is for a human to go to hell.

Who is the Holy Spirt? He is the third person of the Godhead. He is responsible for speaking to humans, if He stops speaking you are like a living dead, you are already in hell.

1. New birth is activated by the Holy Spirit
2. He convicts you of sin
3. He dwells in you and transforms you from being a sinner to being a child of God.
4. He teaches you what it is to lead a godly life.
5. He enables the believer to overcome sin and all fleshly desires.
6. He will bring about the resurrection of your body and give you a glorified body
