Prophet Word brought by Apostle Dr Lucill Baird
1 Kings 18: 41- 46
41 And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” 42 So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. 43 “Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked. “There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.” 44 The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’” 45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. 46 The power of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel. |
Verse 41 There is a sound of the abundance of rain Verse 43 Your days of nothing are over. The nothing season is over. Verse 45 The sky maybe black but they are filled with great rain Don’t be afraid of the dark cloud it is not negative it is positive a great rain is about to pour on us Ahab was a wicked evil man but he believed the word of the prophet and he obeyed Verse 46 God will renew your strength so hitch up your cloak and run the race. Get ready for a flood! |

Speaker: Apostle Chris Baird Theme: The best gift Text: Luke 2:8 - 20 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. The best gift the birth of Jesus Christ Our Lord. The Jews were looking for the Chief Prophet. The Word was only for the Jews before Jesus came Amazing things happens to everyone who meets and receives Jesus as Lord. 1. God keeps His promises. He promised that He would send His Son and He in the fullness of time did. When there was gross darkness God broke through and sent His Son. No matter how dark it gets, how hard the earth shakes God will never leave you. As long As we have Jesus he shall bring a barricade against the darkness. God’s Promises: A. God promises to forgive our sins and by sending His Son He has made a way to do that. B. God promises to make us children of God. He adopted us as sons and daughters of God. We are part of a great family around the world, the Kingdom of God. When He puts His stamp on you then your life is not your own. You have full privileges but our lives are not ours anymore. You have to fit into His family that is why He gives us a code of conduct to follow. C. You have a promise of Him being a comfort during life’s darkest moments. Commit yourselves to serving God and God will reward you for your faithfulness. D. The promise that all our needs will be met. Place your needs before the LORD. E. The promise of eternal life. God is not only interested in you during this life but during death and after death. He promises resurrection and a glorious body for Eternal life with Him, reigning in His Kingdom. God promises a judgment after life and you will be rewarded according to what you have done. After death there is a time of compensation either for good or bad deeds. F. The promises that we will reign with Christ in his Kingdom He will never leave you or forsake you. Remember who God is, what he has done for us and who we are to Him. God always emphasizes on ministering to children and he makes special conditions that you can come to him. Follow God's plan and he will help us always. During the dark silent years of not hearing God’s voice took place after Malachi in the Old Testament as God was preparing the world for the Chief Prophet to come to point the people of Israel and the world back to God. At this Christmas time let us remember that Jesus came as the light of the world. |
