Theme:The Lord is my Shepherd
Text: Psalm 23
|
We have a great cloud of witnesses cheering us on as the last day church.
Hebrews 12:1 says, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
Finish the job that God has called you to do. Don’t leave the earth until your work is completed
In the beginning of 2020 the word from God was ‘Led and fed by the outreached hand of God Under an open Heaven’
We questioned Him did we really hear God? But we are still convinced that God is feeding us and leading us.
God facilitated us He is faithful.
God is serious about being a Shepherd. He supplies our need
A shepherd tends the sheep and finds green pastures
A shepherd is a ruler and teacher a herdsman
A shepherd is a companion and friend he is a Pastor.
A shepherd has friendship with the sheep.
Jesus is the good Shepherd
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
How awesome to know that the God that created the world is our good Shepherd.
He provides our needs not necessarily our wants.
He stills leads us and feeds us. He is in control, He never stopped working.
Sheep don’t question their Shepherd they obey and follow.
Verse 2 He makes me to lie down ...
God is in control. Relax it’s going to be alright. Recline, lie down He will always come through. Don’t worry it will only make you sick.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
Not raging waters but still waters. The battle is not yours it’s the Lords.
Verse 3 He restores my soul. He wants to give you back your peace and quietness.
Restored to good health. Mentally, physically and emotionally. The devil wants you sleepless and disrupted but God wants you to be restored. To your original joy and peace.
He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
He governs and transports you. He is a good Shepherd. He leads from the front. Let Him tell you what direction to go. He will lead you along the right path of righteousness. To do what is right. Give your plans to God He will lead you.
Verse 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Never try to shepherd yourself
