January 26th 2020 Sermon Notes:

Theme: “LED AND FED BY THE OUTSTRETCHED HAND OF GOD, UNDER AN OPEN HEAVEN.”

Apostle Dr. David Durant, senior Pastor at Restoration Ministries International, congratulated Apostle Lucille and Chris on the good foundation they laid in their two children who have stood by their parents over the 25 years.

Remain cemented to the vision of the house let nothing shift you.

Renew your efforts as you go forward advancing the Kingdom of God throughout the nations.

Job 8:7
7 Your beginnings will seem humble,
so prosperous will your future be.

1 Samuel 7:12
12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

Zephaniah 3:17
17 The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”

SERMON:
Your journey to future success depends on you fulfilling 3 very important responsibilities

1. Perusing God with wholehearted obedience

Exodus 13: 17-22
17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.
19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the Israelites swear an oath. He had said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place.”
20 After leaving Sukkoth they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert. 21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

The Israeli were brought out with His presents and His power

Deuteronomy 4: 37-38
37 Because he loved your ancestors and chose their descendants after them, he brought you out of Egypt by his Presence and his great strength, 38 to drive out before you nations greater and stronger than you and to bring you into their land to give it to you for your inheritance, as it is today.

God plans the path for us to follow

Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Nothing ever takes God by surprise

In His providence He always chooses the best way for His people to take

We may not always understand the way He chooses or envy agrees with it, but His way is always the right way.

Why God led them the very long way instead of the shortcut

A. Too many Egyptian military checkpoints

B. Crossing the Philistine border would have invited their army to attack and the Israelites were not ready for a battle.

It may be taking long but God is in control

They that wait on the Lord ....

Moses was almost burnt out when God had to burn the bush, to get his attention. Moses could have missed God, but something about that fire was different, this had to be something different.

We must recognize when it is God or the flesh.

He that dwells in the secret place ....

He that is faithful in Little will be faithful in much.

All you have to have is one encounter with God.

After the burning bush encounter something happened:
. His life was changed forever
. It gave him the anointing to use the rod in his hands
. It enable him to stand up to Pharaoh and his hosts

2. Maintaining a walk of faith

Exodus 14:14:31
31 And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.

Egypt pursued
Israel panicked
God demonstrated His power

God took you the long way
Use your mighty weapons because you are in war

3. Establishing a culture of prophetic worship

A Judah anointing is falling on this house

Gods victory is announced (Exodus 15: 1-5)
1Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord:
“I will sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.
2 “The Lord is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3 The Lord is a warrior;
the Lord is his name.
4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his army
he has hurled into the sea.
The best of Pharaoh’s officers
are drowned in the Red Sea.
5 The deep waters have covered them;
they sank to the depths like a stone.

God’s weapons are described (Exodus 15:6-10)
6 Your right hand, Lord,
was majestic in power.
Your right hand, Lord,
shattered the enemy.
7 “In the greatness of your majesty
you threw down those who opposed you.
You unleashed your burning anger;
it consumed them like stubble.
8 By the blast of your nostrils
the waters piled up.
The surging waters stood up like a wall;
the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 The enemy boasted,
‘I will pursue, I will overtake them.
I will divide the spoils;
I will gorge myself on them.
I will draw my sword
and my hand will destroy them.’
10 But you blew with your breath,
and the sea covered them.
They sank like lead
in the mighty waters.

God’s character is extolled (Exodus 15:1-16)
11 Who among the gods
is like you, Lord?
Who is like you—
majestic in holiness,
awesome in glory,
working wonders?
12 “You stretch out your right hand,
and the earth swallows your enemies.
13 In your unfailing love you will lead
the people you have redeemed.
In your strength you will guide them
to your holy dwelling.
14 The nations will hear and tremble;
anguish will grip the people of Philistia.
15 The chiefs of Edom will be terrified,
the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling,
the people of Canaan will melt away;
16 terror and dread will fall on them.
By the power of your arm
they will be as still as a stone—
until your people pass by, Lord,
until the people you bought pass by.

God’s promises are fulfilled (Exodus 15:6-18)
16 terror and dread will fall on them.
By the power of your arm
they will be as still as a stone—
until your people pass by, Lord,
until the people you bought[d] pass by.
17 You will bring them in and plant them
on the mountain of your inheritance—
the place, Lord, you made for your dwelling,
the sanctuary, Lord, your hands established.
18 “The Lord reigns
for ever and ever.”

Exodus 15:1-22
19 When Pharaoh’s horses, chariots and horsemen went into the sea, the Lord brought the waters of the sea back over them, but the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground. 20 Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women followed her, with timbrels and dancing. 21 Miriam sang to them:
“Sing to the Lord,
for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver
he has hurled into the sea.”
